Screening of film by Juliet Giglio and Mic-Anthony Hay featuring the return of three refuges to Fort Ontario in 2018.
During World War II, only 982 refugees from the European Holocaust were allowed entry into the United States. Using archival footage and interviews, Only 982 tells the story of cousins Rikica, David and Ella Levi, three Jewish refugees, as they made the pilgrimage from Yugoslavia to Naples, Italy where they were joined by 3,000 other refugees vying for only 1,000 spots on the Henry Gibbons ship to America. After signing documents that stated they would promise to return to Yugoslavia after the war, the Levi family boarded the ship for New York. The film documents their journey and the 18 months they spent at Fort Ontario.

Spey Nation started in 2008 as a spey casting clave (gathering) at the Pineville Boat Launch near Pulaski, NY and celebrated the emerging 2-handed rod culture in the Great Lakes Fishery. It continues today as a celebration of all things spey both online and through events.
Spey Nation is everywhere. It can be found in the tail outs of the Pacific Northwest, the salt water rivers of New England, the Great Atlantic Salmon rivers of the world and the tributaries of the Great Lakes. It's everywhere 2 handed fly rods are cast, flies are swung and is expanding with every cast and step. It lives, breathes and grows with every angler who grabs the 2-hander or feels the tight line grab for the very first time. It grows through any company promoting the sport and gospel of spey casting and spey fishing. Our mission is to support that culture because it's a good culture full of caring individuals and organizations that share values about rivers.
