CNY Arts is Holding Seminars for Decentralization Grants – 2 in Oswego County

Funds Available for Arts, Culture & Heritage Projects in 2018

CNY Arts has launched Decentralization (DEC) Grant guidelines and applications for the 2018 cycle which can be found at DEC Program is a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts.

Grants are available for eligible artists and nonprofits based in Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego counties through a competitive peer panel process. Applicants cannot have applied directly to NYSCA for 2018.

Available Programs:

Community Arts Grants | $500 – $5000
Purpose: To provide support for accessible arts and cultural projects that enhance the cultural climate in our neighborhoods and communities
Who May Apply: Nonprofit organizations, individual artists with an eligible fiscal sponsor or community based partner
Application Deadline: Thursday, October 26, 2017 by Midnight

Individual Artist Commissions | $2500
Purpose: To support the creation of new work with exceptional community engagement in the creative process
Who May Apply: Individual Artists ONLY
Application Deadline: Thursday, October 26, 2017 by Midnight

Arts Education Grants | $500 – $5000
Purpose: To support teaching artists and arts educators in engaging K-12 public school students and adults learners in rich and meaningful artistic experiences in dedicated learning environments
Who May Apply: Nonprofit organizations and individuals partnering with an eligible school or nonprofit organization
Application Deadline: Thursday, November 9, 2017 by Midnight

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Mandatory Seminar Attendance

Seminar attendance is required of ALL applicants this year. Due to the changes in application procedure, anyone interested in the Decentralization program is required to attend an informational seminar, webinar or schedule a grants consultation to understand the CNY Arts guidelines and how to prepare an application. APPLICANTS THAT DO NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR FUNDING.
