My name is Mike Tankersly but many call me me Tank. My fishing “career” started with bass tournaments in 1988. Around 1998 I switched over to fishing walleye tournaments and have had much success at the local level.
Tournament achievements include:
- Multiple wins in the NEWT Circuit on Oneida Lake and Lake Erie
- Winning the UAW walleye tournament 3 times
- Three Oneida Lake Team Walleye tournament wins
- Oneida Lake Team Walleye tournament Team of The Year
- Making the Masters Walleye Circuit Championship twice
In 2018, after taking many friends and friends of friends walleye fishing and seeing the excitement they had when catching walleye, I decided it was time to make a change in my life and start guiding.
I retired from my full time job, bought a new Ranger boat, and got my Masters Captain’s license. Unfortunately I had a couple of minor medical setbacks in 2018. Now with all of that behind me I am ready to start guiding in 2019.
