2021 celebrates the 125th anniversary of the Oswego County Historical Society and 75th anniversary of its landmark headquarters Richardson-Bates House Museum. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it is one of the most intact house museums in New York State and the society is the oldest historical and cultural repository of the remarkable history of Oswego County.

Features history of the Town of Schroeppel and Village of Phoenix including the Oswego Canal. Open Saturday afternoons from 1-4 pm during June, July and August.

Housed in the former West Monroe Grange, the museum contains a collection of locally-produced stoneware, a complete 1940s kitchen, and a large variety of items and photographs centered around West Monroe and communities on the north shore of Oneida Lake. Special exhibits and materials for genealogical research. The society is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and by appointment.
