Racing and Tracks

Heart-pounding racing action is one of many exciting Oswego attractions! From dirt to asphalt, around oval tracks and obstacle courses, racing is one of the top things to do in Oswego, NY and throughout the whole county!

Check out the races on the Brewerton Speedway’s 1/3-mile dirt track. The “D-Shaped Demon” roars to life on Friday nights with big blocks, Sportsman, Mod Lite and four-cylinder Super Stock cars on the racing schedule from May through October. The racing season winds down with the annual Hurricane Harvey, A NAPA Super DIRT Week special race.

Head over to Fulton Speedway on Saturday nights for more dirt track fun. The 3/8-mile track features big block modified, Sportsman, novice Sportsman and RUSH late models April through September. The season concludes at the end of September with the annual Milton CAT Outlaw 200, a full weekend of racing.

If asphalt drives your need for speed, head over to one of the hottest Oswego, NY attractions. Oswego Speedway’s “Steel Palace” hosts small Block, 350 and the mighty Big Block supermodifieds on Saturday nights from May through September. The season winds down with the annual Budweiser International Classic over Labor Day weekend.  The event features supermodifieds, asphalt modifieds from the Whelan tour and super stocks vying for the checkered flag and the title of Classic Champion.

In October, Oswego Speedway transforms from the “Steel Palace” to the “Clay Palace” for “racing’s biggest party” – NAPA Super DIRT Week. Thousands of fans and hundreds of competitors flock to Oswego for a week of high-stakes, high-banks racing. Drivers lay it all on the line for the 200-lap finale taking place on the Sunday afternoon of DIRT week.

Racing in Oswego County also includes go-karts, microds and quarter midget cars. Youth racers take off at the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club, known as the “Claytona,” where races are scheduled on Sundays, April through October. Go-kart racing heats up at the Oswego Kartway, known as the “Bull Ring.”  Located behind Oswego Speedway, racing takes place on Friday evenings from spring to early fall.
