Walk/Run Route The event will begin and end at Fallbrook Recreation Center. The 5K Run/Walk route will be on Fallbrook and Rice Creek trails. The 1 Mile Walk will also be a Fallbrook trail or on Thompson Road for families with strollers. All trails are well marked and groomed. Dogs are welcome to participle in their event. As daylight grows shorter and the air temperatures cool, a change of behavior is noted in the Center’s beaver colony. A slide presentation and introduction of beaver natural history, as well as the ongoing recovery of the beaver pond will be offered. Following the indoor presentation, enjoy a short wander to the pond with naturalist Pat Carney, in hopes of observing the resident beavers reinforcing their lodge and dams or stocking their larder for the coming winter. We’ll also keep a watchful eye for osprey, herons, migrating waterfowl, and other interesting pond life. A limited number of binoculars are available for use.
