October 25, 2019A SUNY Oswego storytelling class will bring the tales of local historical figures to life during "A Night at the Oswego Town Rural Cemetery." 5:30 to gather, 6 pm start time. Admission is free for the event, which is sponsored by the Oswego Town Historical Society.
This year will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Dr. Mary Walker. The event will take place rain or shine. This is a walking tour and will take approximately two hours. Please dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes and bring a flashlight and umbrella in case of rain.

As daylight grows shorter and the air temperatures cool, a change of behavior is noted in the Center’s beaver colony. A slide presentation and introduction of beaver natural history, as well as the ongoing recovery of the beaver pond will be offered. Following the indoor presentation, enjoy a short wander to the pond with naturalist Pat Carney, in hopes of observing the resident beavers reinforcing their lodge and dams or stocking their larder for the coming winter. We’ll also keep a watchful eye for osprey, herons, migrating waterfowl, and other interesting pond life.
