Oswego Speedway to Host Racing for Ronald McDonald House WalkPosted on May 29, 2013
OSWEGO, NY (May 29, 2013) – Oswego Speedway will play host to the second annual Racing for Ronald McDonald House Walk on Saturday, June 8 beginning at 8:30am.
All proceeds from the charity walk will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY, based in Syracuse, NY, is a safe and comfortable place where families whose children are hospitalized in Central New York with serious and sometimes terminal illnesses can find relief just around the corner. RMHC of CNY gives these families, who often suffer great financial burden due to expenses needed to tend to the medical needs of their child, a place to stay.
Since opening their doors in 1982, more than 17,000 families have found comfort and hope at the Ronald McDonald House in Syracuse.
The track walk is open to individual participants and teams. At check-in each walker will be provided a lap sheet to keep track of their own laps; while awards will be given for completion of the most laps, participants looking to have a leisurely walk and not record laps are welcome to do so.
Refreshments will be made available throughout the race and participants can take breaks at any time.
Participants can register online at www.oswegospeedway.com by clicking on the Racing for Ronald McDonald House link on the left side of the page. Completed registration forms can be mailed to Oswego Speedway with payment at 300 E. Albany St., Oswego, NY 13126.
All team members must pay a $20 registration fee. Checks must be made payable to Racing for Ronald McDonald House.
Registration and pledge forms, as well as a full schedule of events are located at www.oswegospeedway.com.
At the conclusion of the track walk there will also be a charity kickball match on the Speedway grounds between ISMA and Oswego Speedway car owners and drivers. Admission to the kickball match is free and the team that earns the most money in their donation boxes will be declared as the winner.
Event organizers would like to thank the following companies for their support:
