SPACE STILL AVAILABLE TO BUILD A BOAT IN JUST 3 DAYS!

Space is still available to participate in the Boat Building Weekend being offered by the The H. Lee White Marine Museum and Maritime Center in partnership with the Department of Technology at SUNY Oswego and Raby’s ACE Home Center.

The program will take place in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 28, 29 & 30, you and your family can join in an instructional, hands-on program that culminates in a completed boat for your family’s use.

Eric and Nicole Davis, of Central Square, sit in the skiff their family built in 2009, during the H. Lee White Marine Museum and Maritime Center's Family Boat Building Weekend. This year, the same three boats shown in this picture will be offered as options to build. Call 342-0480 for more details or check hleewhitemarinemuseum.com or fb.com/hlwmm.

This is our seventh year offering this unique opportunity and there are three styles of boats to choose from.  All materials are provided, but a limited number of kits are available.

Compared to other boat building programs in the Northeast, this workshop is made more affordable thanks to the generous support of Raby’s ACE Home Center.

At least one responsible adult, parent or guardian over the age of 18 years, must be included in each family or group and there is an age minimum of 9 years old for the children due to the skills needed to complete the project. Groups of at least two are requested.

You must register as soon as possible and pre-payment is required. Space is limited, so participation will be on a first registered and paid basis.

Contact the H. Lee White Marine Museum at 342-0480 orinfo@hleewhitemarinemuseum.com for more information. Or visithleewhitemarinemuseum.com or facebook.com/hlwmm for more programming information.
