Dog Sledding & Skijoring


Heavy snows and a well-developed trail system make Oswego County a perfect spot for sled dog training and events!

Adirondack Kennel:
A kennel that consists of between 24 and 40 dogs. ADK’s main focus is on Open Class Sprint racing. ADK also gives hourly rides, clinics and seminars to various groups, organizations and public entities. Rides start in December. Cupcake Mushing
A kennel consisting of world-class Alaskan sled dogs. Rides given in the Tug Hill forests. Individual, group, and special events tours are offered, including sled rides with snowmobile escort, kennel tours, and mushing presentations. Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club:
The Penn Sled Dog Club holds events on several weekends at Winona Forest Recreation Area in Boylston. Spectators are welcome.

Winona Forest State Forest Recreation Area:
Year round use on all the trails. Practice with your dog in the summer.  9,233 acres. Center Rd., off Co. Rte. 22 in Lacona. Access at Center Rd., Wart Rd. and Bargy Rd.
