Oswego County received a storm this week, bringing up to a foot of snow in some parts of the county. Many clubs are starting to open trails. Regular winter trails reports will continue weekly as clubs provide updates.

🔭 Telescope Observation Sessions: March 15-17, 8-10 p.m. The March 16 event has a kid-friendly program beginning at 6:30 p.m. prior to the observation session. All programs are weather-dependent, so be sure to call 315-312-6620 after 6 p.m. before each session for event updates. @ozricecreek, 193 Thompson Rd., Oswego.
🍁Maple Weekend: March 16-17 and 23-24. Visit Yardley Maple for their Maple Weekend festivities! They will have sugarhouse tours, tasting samples boiling demonstrations and more! Yardley will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is located at 524 Co. Rte. 64 in Mexico.
📚The Girl in the Glass Coffin: March 16, 1 p.m. This event is the book release party and signing for The Girl in the Glass Coffin: The Tonkin Affairs, by Lee Ellen Hickey. This is a fictionalized true story that is a legend in Oswego. There will be copies of the book available for purchase and there will be an author signing. @oswegopl , 120 E. 2nd St., Oswego.
🦙St. Patty’s Day with the O’Pacas: March 16, 1 p.m. Spend some of the holiday weekend with the alpacas at Seven Acres! @sevenacresalpaca, 9457 Dinglehole Road, Phoenix. For reservations visit sevenacresalpaca.com.

🎭Don McCann Playwriting Showcase: March 8 and March 9, 7:30 p.m.; March 10, 2:00 p.m. This showcase kicks off the @oswegoplayersinc 86th- Anniversary Season. Tickets are pay what you wish. Tickets are available at oswegoplayers.org or by calling 315-343-5138.
🛍 Blast Hunger Craft Fair: March 10, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Proceeds from raffles will go to Blessings in a Backpack. Pulled pork dinners will be available for $15.00. Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. 5th St., Oswego.
☘️St. Patrick’s Day Parade: March 9, 1:00 p.m. Entry to march in the parade is free. Call 315-591-6295 to participate. The parade kicks off on E. 1st Street in Oswego near G.S. Steamers and ends near Wright’s Landing. Note: there will be a 5k Saturday morning, so there will be a lot of walkers/runners on Oswego streets!
📚Bekkah Frishch: March 9, 2:00 p.m. Join Bekkah Frisch as she talks about her debut novel, The Great Quiet. There will be a book signing after. @oswegopl, 120 E. 2nd Street, Oswego.

📜Dr. Mary E. Walker Talk: March 10, 1:00 p.m. Join Oswego Town Historian George DeMass and President of the Oswego County Historical Society Mary Kay Stone for a talk on Dr.
Mary E. Walker. This event is open to the public. Central Square American Legion Post 915 (upstairs), 3301 Fulton Ave., Central Square.

🏀🥍 @oswegoathletics: 3/1: men’s basketball vs. Babson (NCAA DIII Tournament) 6:00 p.m. Tickets: $15.00; youth 3-12 and seniors (65+): $10.00. DeSales/Williams tip at 3:30 p.m. and one ticket is valid for both games. Tickets are available at the box office or by visiting tickets.oswego.edu. The winning teams face off at 6:00 p.m. on 3/2. Basketball games take place in the Max Ziel Gymnasium in Laker Hall on the SUNY Oswego Campus. Women’s lacrosse takes on Utica at 1:00 p.m. on 3/2 at the Laker Turf Stadium.
🔬 @ozricecreek: 3/2, Junior Naturist Program: 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; each session will last 1.5 hours. This month’s program is Maple Tapping with Ms. Linda. Participation is free; children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. 3/2: Dr. John Zielinski gives a talk on the science of eclipses in preparation for the solar eclipse on April 8. The talk has hybrid options with in-person attendance at Rice Creek Field Station and online via Zoom at https://oswego-edu.zoom.us/j/99292448864. Rice Creek is located at 193 Thompson Road, Oswego.
💡Maker Madness: 3/2, 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Penfield Library on the @oswegostate Campus. Participate in free hands-on maker activities, including crafts and STEAM projects.
