Did you know that there will be a total lunar eclipse this week?🌕🌑🌕 While perhaps not as rare as last year`s total solar eclipse, this is an event that will have you looking up at the sky.

You may want to get a nap in if you plan to view the eclipse ... it begins at 11:57 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 with the total blood red moon eclipse totality beginning at 2:26 a.m. on March 14.

🇮🇪 Who doesn`t love a parade? March 8 is the annual St. Patrick`s Day parade in Oswego at 1 p.m. beginning at G.S. Steamers before crossing the bridge and heading toward Wright`s Landing down via W. Second St.

If you`re a snowmobiler visiting Oswego County from outside of NYS, March 7-9 is a free snowmobile weekend in New York State! During this weekend, the registration requirement in New York is waived for already properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobiling enthusiasts. Participants in these free snowmobiling events must operate a snowmobile that is registered in their home state/province and must carry any applicable insurance as required.

This weekend (Feb 15-16) are free freshwater fishing days in New York State. You will not need a license to fish in Oswego County waters, but all other rules and regulations will apply.

This weekend is also the Sandy Pond Sportsmen’s Association 49th annual Ice Fishing Derby! This event will be held February 15-16 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on North and South Sandy Ponds. This is a great opportunity to try fishing in Oswego County! 🎣
