Maple Weekends began in New York State back in 1995, when it was only a single-day event known as Maple Sunday. The event has grown to span over four days on two weekends. Maple Weekends are an opportunity for the public to visit their local maple syrup producers to learn more about the process of making maple syrup. Visitors can taste samples of a variety of different kinds of pure maple syrup, purchase syrup and other maple confections, and discover delectable recipes on ways to cook and bake with maple syrup.
Celebrate Maple Weekends in Oswego County by heading to Yardley Maple! Yardley Maple is a family-owned and operated maple sugaring business located at 524 Co. Rte. 64, Mexico, N.Y.
During Maple Weekends, Yardley Maple hosts an open house, welcoming the public to take a tour of the sugarhouse, watch a boiling demonstration, and more. Visitors can sample Yardley’s different syrup varieties and purchase their favorites.

Those with a sweet tooth will also want to buy some maple confections along with their syrup! Yardley Maple also offers maple treats, including maple ground coffee, maple candy, maple cream, maple coated peanuts, maple popcorn, and maple cotton candy.

New York State Maple Weekends also provides free recipe cards for the event, so attendees can have some inspiration on how to use their new maple goods. Learn how to make maple granulated cheesecake, maple custard angel food cake, maple sugar waffles and more.
Yardley Maple also typically works with other small local businesses during Maple Weekends. In the past, vendors selling maple scented candles, skincare items and other products have had a presence at Yardley’s during the two weekends.
