Experience a Magical Night at Balloons Under the Moon August 19

Enjoy a night of family-friendly fun featuring hot air balloons, live entertainment, food trucks and more! This unique event takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Don Butler Soccer Fields at 300 Chase Rd., Granby.

Looking for things to do near Oswego, N.Y.? The second annual “Balloons Under the Moon” returns, bringing a variety of fun activities to Oswego County! Although newer, “Balloons Under the Moon” is very popular and attracted a large turnout for its inaugural event last year. This year is expected to be bigger and better than ever! With free admission and affordable food options, this is a perfect budget-friendly event for families.

Hot air balloons at Balloons Under the Moon

Event Schedule:

  • 5 to 6 p.m.: Performance by DownBeat Percussion
  • 5 to 6 p.m.: Animal Show with G&G Animals
  • 5 to 7 p.m. Tethered hot air balloon rides (wind dependent)
  • 5 to 7:30 p.m.: Balloon walk (wind dependent)
  • 6 to 8 p.m.: Balloon art by Jeff the Magic Man
  • 6 to 9 p.m.: Live music by The Billionaires
  • 7:30 to 9 p.m.: Hot air balloon glow
  • 8 to 9 p.m.: Fire dancers

Tethered hot air balloon rides are $25 per adult and $20 per child. Pony rides will also be available for $5.

Vendors, food trucks, bounce houses and games will also be set up from 5 to 9 p.m.

Transportation:

Due to the large crowds expected, it’s suggested to take advantage of the free park n’ ride shuttles to get to the event conveniently. Oswego County Department of Mobility Management will provide four shuttle buses that will run from 5 to 9 p.m. Shuttle stops are at the following locations:

  • Granby Walmart, 1818 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton
  • Granby Town Hall, 1909 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton
  • Granby Elementary School, 400 W. Seventh St. N., Fulton
  • Ray Bodley High School, 6 William Gillard Drive, Fulton

For those planning on driving their vehicle to the event location, please note that parking is very limited and that Chase Road will be operating one way only during the event to help ensure traffic moves safely.

In the event of rain, “Balloons Under the Moon” will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 26.
