SUPER Dirt Week Returns to Oswego

In Oswego County, summer nights are highlighted by the roars of engines coming from one of our three local racetracks. But just because summer has ended, doesn’t mean the racing season is over! The biggest race week in the northeast is coming up October 4-10 as Oswego Speedway’s “Steel Palace” is transformed to the “Clay Palace” for Super DIRT Week 54.

The week kicks off as campers roll into Oswego beginning on October 4 with a kickoff party for fans and the community at Lighthouse Lanes with free pizza and wings along with bowling and drink specials throughout the evening. Festivities take place from 6-10 p.m. Lighthouse Lanes is located at 295 E. Albany Street, adjacent to Oswego Speedway.

Race fans are welcome to head to the speedway for Microd Madness on October 5. Midget and microd cars will practice and have their heat races beginning at 11 a.m. with the features to take place at 6 p.m. The event is free to spectators.

West First Street in Oswego will be the site of Racing’s Biggest Block Party on October 6! From 4-8 p.m., the block between West Bridge and West Oneida Streets will be closed as race fans and community members gather for food specials, driver interviews and autographs, and live music. The champions flag will also be raised honoring Mat Williamson, winner of the 2025 Super DIRTcar Series Billy Whittaker 200.

Can’t make the parade? We will be livestreaming the parade on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/visitoswegocounty. As the parade ends, racing action begins. Practice and time trials for the DIRTcar Pro Stock and 358 series will kick off at 1 p.m. The evening’s racing action begins at 7 p.m. with a slate of heat races for the Pro Stocks and 358 series.
