Today is Yom HaShoah — Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The grounds of Fort Ontario are home to the Safe Haven Museum and Education Center, which was home to 982 Holocaust refugees and was the only location in the United States to welcome Holocaust refugees during World War II.

We are exactly one week away from the beginning of race season in Oswego County! 🏁
The season kicks off next week at @fultonspeedway Monday, April 21 is a "test and tune" at 6:30 p.m leading up to the Highbank Holdup Weekend on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.
@brewertonspeedway joins in on the action on Friday, May 2 for the Oneida Lake WalleyeFest 2025 season opener.
The season kicks off at @officialoswegospeedway`s "Steel Palace" on May 24 with the part one of the Opening Week Extravaganza with the ISMA winged supers on May 24 and part two of the 74th season kickoff festivities on May 31 with the Tony White and Jim Shampine Memorial races.

Stocking of chinook salmon has begun in Lake Ontario. The fish will stay in net pens for three weeks before charter captains volunteer to take the fish out into the lake. 🎣

Did you know that there will be a total lunar eclipse this week?🌕🌑🌕 While perhaps not as rare as last year`s total solar eclipse, this is an event that will have you looking up at the sky.
You may want to get a nap in if you plan to view the eclipse ... it begins at 11:57 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 with the total blood red moon eclipse totality beginning at 2:26 a.m. on March 14.
